Flush
Commissioned project for Sugar Mountain Festival 2016
Flush is a project by Prue Stent, Clare Longley and Honey Long, which explores the internal processes, sticky physicality and diverse, sometimes surreal experience of inhabiting a body.Through the use of hyper ‘feminine’ imagery, the images aim to deconstruct how we are seen and how we view ourselves, capturing the intangibility of experience through visceral and subjective content. Flush presents a dichotomy between seduction and repulsion that aims to blur fixed and external representations of the female body.
Installation features selection of 110 x 162cm prints, floor mural, water bed and sound scape. Thank you to Hannah Cameron, Pete Keen, Kai Wasikowski and Pip Stent for their help in realising the project.
